How Credit Unions Can Tackle Affordable Housing Together

A Webinar on Affordable House Loans:  June 16th | 2 PM EST

From Collaboration to Keys, Here’s How Credit Unions Are Coming Together To Create Real Housing Solutions.

Affordable housing remains one of the most pressing challenges facing communities today. For many prospective homebuyers, the barrier isn’t desire, it’s feasibility. In fact, more than 70% of would-be buyers delayed their plans last year due to affordability concerns.

In Tucson, five credit unions came together to take on this challenge. Alongside housing partners and local leaders, they launched the Tucson Welcome Home Program. This program is a collaborative initiative designed to reduce upfront costs, remove key barriers to entry, and make homeownership more attainable for those left out by the home buying system. By combining resources between multiple credit unions and aligning around a shared goal, the program has been able to deliver targeted financial support where it’s needed most in the communities where the credit unions serve.

In this webinar, Aaron Passman, senior content manager at Callahan & Associates will moderate a discussion with Danielle Bridges, SVP of mortgage lending & Capital Markets at Vantage West Credit Union and Adam Coggshall, chief credit officer at Pima Federal Credit Union. Together, they’ll share details on how they achieved their successes, lessons they learned, and what other credit unions can take away on this topic.
